The Essex Arms in Brentwood organized a whole weekend of fundraising (30th May-1st June) on behalf of Childcare.

This started on Friday 30th May at 11am with a 29 mile run from the Spread Eagle in Southend to the Essex Arms in Brentwood.

The three keen runners, Ashley, Aaron and Dan completed this in 6 ½ hours and were greeted on their return by the new Mayor of Brentwood Dudley Payne and Childcare Fundraiser Tracy Jordan.

This was followed on Friday night by 2 sponsored events: Mick having half his head and beard shaved off and Ashley having a chest wax and money was raised by the band called 31X on Friday night.

On Saturday the Essex Arms held a BBQ and fancy dress competition and on Sunday a Quiz and comedy night all in aid of Childcare.

A big thank you goes out to Sharon and Phil – publicans of the Essex Arms, the runners, Mick and all the Essex Arms staff for all their hard work and to all those who supported one or more of the events held or sponsored the runners and Mick.

It was a great weekend enjoyed by all and all the money raised will benefit many local children.
