May 2009
We couldn't have wished for a more glorious day. The sun shone brightly as over 125 walkers arrived at the Cathedral to be greeted by the Mayor of Brentwood Cllr Tony Sleep. For those that didn't join us at the Cathedral there were 12 circular walks arranged (including 8 brand new routes) around the Diocese all of which were a resounding success.
Over 260 walkers took part and with sponsorship money still coming in we are well on the way to breaking the £10,000 mark!
As you will be aware, 2009 is a very special year for us as it sees us celebrating our 25th Anniuersary. We are proud and privileged to say we have been supporting children and families in our community for the last 25 years. However, we are aware, as the financial belt is tightened there is no doubt the impact will cut into families' standards of living and history shows that the need for our services will increase.
Fundraising events such as The Sponsored Walk are vital to ensure we are able to continue to support those children and families who need our help.
Thank you for your support and God Bless.

Director, Childcare
"It has been my privilege to organise this walk on behalf of the Brentwood Catholic Children's Society for the last 3 years. I am very aware that this event would not be possible without the relentless efforts of many people and it is because of this effort that the Brentwood Catholic Children's Society is able to continue to provide the vital service they provide to the children and families in our Diocese who need help.
"Remember - Brentwood Catholic Children's Society is your Children's charity and I would like to personally thank you all for your continued support."
This event could not take place without the support of all our volunteers and a special thonks must go to all the walk leaders who worked relentlessly on behalf of the charity to make the event a success.
Thanks to all the volunteers who supported the event on the day - not forgetting the ladies whose hard work ensured all walkers arriving at the Cathedral were greeted with a ploughmans, cup of tea and cake!
